Best Western Plus Parkside Inn & Suites in Olney opened on May 3. The 6.5 million dollar project is Olney’s largest project in over a decade.
Co-owner Karen Seals said, “Parkside Inn will have a huge impact on local businesses with our social engagement platform, Runtriz. We upload local area attractions including local hot spots, staffs favorites, and local restaurant menus for our guests to refer to during their stay. It provides an opportunity for our guest to experience what Olney has to offer and for the local businesses to benefit economically.”
Seals shares ownership with her husband, Eric, and Mike and Dixie Baker.
During the first weekend of business, guest Scarlett Hall from Tennessee enjoyed operating the hotel’s pancake machine. With a touch of a button, she enjoyed fresh and fluffy homemade pancakes.
Seals said, “Breakfast has been a hit with the guests. We have a wide range of sweet and savory selections including gluten-free items. We also offer a grab-and-go breakfast bag for guest that are in a hurry.”
Hotel owners are excited about the luxury amenities their venue will provide to the local community and visitors. Among those amenities are a meeting room that can be utilized for business, family and class reunions, bridal and baby showers, parties, and more.
Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi, an indoor heated pool, fitness center, in-room mini-refrigerator and microwave, in-room coffee maker, on-site guest laundry, and a business center offering Microsoft Office and printer/fax machine, meeting room, and onsite guest laundry.
The owners are planning an open house and grand opening ceremony in the near future. The date is yet to be determined.
